dieses jahr ladet der ETC in die kulturhauptstadt 2009 nach linz (a)
die erste zusammenkunft dieser art fand in pula, (cro) 2002 statt. frauen rund um den globus organisieren via mailing lists und irc meetings das 5 tägige festival. geplant sind workshops und lectures rund um die themen gender, technologie und kunst. die wurzeln des etc liegen in gender changers hardware und floss (free/libre open source software). der ETC linz wird von servus.at, MAIZ, und der Stadtwerkstatt gehostet. ach ja; und stattfinden wird er vom 11.- 15. juli (siehe flyer). der etc ist eine gute möglichkeit sein wissen über computertechnologie und open source software auf den neuesten stand zu bringen und bietet technologieinteressierten frauen eine plattform mit internationalen artists in kontakt zu treten.

The “Eclectic Tech Carnival” is calling all women to participate in the 6th annual /Eclectic Tech Carnival in Linz. A unique computer skill-share. A several day-night carnival of exchanging computer related skills for women by women. For the first time, we will hold 2 /etcs in the same year, one in Linz and one in Brasil. This is the first information on Linz, Brasil will follow soon. In Linz, the “Eclectic Tech Carnival” will be focusing on themes of gender, technology and art. Along with workshops on critical ways of dealing with everyday technologies, there will also be space for women to be politically, creatively, performatively, artistically active. With this Open Call we look for workshops, worklabs, lectures, public interventions and performances.
